ConTexture is designed with privacy first. Your writing stays yours.
Effective date: 20 June 2026 · Developer: Timothy Frey · rygelmir@outlook.com
ConTexture is a long-form writing app for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information ConTexture accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected. We are committed to being transparent about our practices.
ConTexture is designed with a privacy-first approach. Your writing stays on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We do not operate servers that store your content, and we do not sell your data to anyone.
Your writing and documents. ConTexture stores all notes, projects, character sheets, and other content you create directly on your device and in your personal iCloud Drive account via CloudKit. This data is stored in your personal iCloud container controlled entirely by your Apple ID, never transmitted to our servers or any third-party servers, and accessible only by you (and anyone you explicitly choose to share with via iCloud sharing).
Calendar and Reminders. ConTexture requests access to your Calendar and Reminders to display events and tasks in the daily journal view and to create tasks from checklists in your notes. This access is used only to display and create calendar events and reminders within the app, is never transmitted outside your device or iCloud account, and is fully optional — the app functions without this permission.
Photo Library. ConTexture requests access to your Photo Library to allow you to add images to notes, character sheets, and Maps & Images folders. This access is used only when you explicitly choose to import a photo. ConTexture does not scan or index your full photo library.
Usage data. ConTexture does not collect analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry beyond what Apple provides automatically through the App Store. We do not use any third-party analytics frameworks.
All information accessed by ConTexture is used solely to provide the app's features to you. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than operating the app's stated features.
ConTexture does not share your personal information with third parties. The only exceptions are:
Your data is stored on your device (protected by your device's security features) and in iCloud (encrypted in transit and at rest per Apple's standards). We do not maintain any servers, databases, or infrastructure that stores your content. Timothy Frey (the developer) has no access to your notes, documents, or personal writing.
ConTexture is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since all data is stored in the user's own iCloud account and no data is transmitted to external servers, it does not present privacy risks beyond those inherent in Apple's iCloud service.
ConTexture does not integrate any third-party advertising networks, analytics services, or data brokers. The only third-party service involved is Apple's iCloud and CloudKit, which governs the storage and sync of your data.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of ConTexture after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
